Karel van den Braak
About Karel van den Braak
Over the years Karel van den Braak (1953) has developed his own sophisticated but powerful style.
Basic yet complex, en endeavour towards simplicity that radiates an aura of stability and peace. A search for the essence of forms in which all superfluous details are eliminated. After polyester and steel constructions, he quickly devloped a fascination for bronze casting.
Marble also gets a lot of attention but the connection with bronze going from modelling clay to giving a patina to colours has, up to now, been the guiding principle in the work of Karel van den Braak.
A graduate of the Hoger Sint Lucas Instituut in Brussels, Karel van den Braak currently lives and works in Bonheiden. Contact: 0478/529001
